Engaging hands on activity helps students understand adaptations that lead to natural selection.
Students use various implements to model a bird’s beak (binder clip, tweezers, spoon, and chopsticks) to try to “eat” different foods (small beans, large beans, rubber bands). Strong emphasis on data collection to compare how each beak shape survives. Includes 12 data analysis and higher order thinking skills types of questions for students to analyze what the data shows them about adaptations.
Includes teachers guide and answer key
