Practice measurement of mass and volume as well as calculating density in this hands on activity in which factors that affect the density of ocean water are measured.
Part 1 – Students will find the mass, volume, and density of water and then increase the salinity of that water to see how salinity affects density.
Part 2 – Students will find the mass, volume, and density of water and then increase the temperature of that water to see how temperature affects density.
Use this activity as measurement practice or incorporate it into your ocean current unit.
Includes answer key.
