  • Late Devonian Extinction
  • Permian-Triassic Extinction
  • Triassic-Jurassic Extinction
  • Cretaceous-Paleogene Extinction
For each mass extinction, research document includes:
  • When did the extinction occur?
  • What caused the extinction?
  • What were the effects of the extinction?
  • What happened after the extinction?
The 3 page student worksheet asks students questions such as:
  • Do mass extinctions occur at predictable intervals of time?
  • Are extinctions sudden or gradual?
  • In what ways are the 5 mass extinctions you studied similar and different?
