Description
With the launch of Artemis II this winter, student interest in the space program is a great stepping off point for these 7 engaging activities that will take your middle schoolers 5 days to complete!
Day 1:Read an intro to Artemis and conduct a hands on activity learning about Newton’s third law.
Day 2:Design a crew module that can hold 4 astronauts with enough food, water, and oxygen for 10 days.
Day 3:Read a brief history of astronauts in space and create a time line. Choose 3 space missions that you think are the most important missions and explain why.
Day 4:Read about landing on the Moon versus landing on Mars and analyze what you’ve read.
Day 5:Choose from 3 culminating projects – a news report, an astronaut’s journal, or designing a mission patch.
Suggested answer keys included.
Please note: This activity includes a print and go 10 page PDF workbook for students that is not editable!
